MEDITERRANEO RURAL is a small family business run by Jenny and Oswaldo ( an Anglo-Spanish couple) offering two top quality countrystyle holiday accommodations in the province of Alicante, Spain.
Our two SELF-CATERING HOLIDAY HOMES are located on the outskirs of BENIMELI village, in the lush citrus growing Rectoria valley, between the mountains and the Mediterranean coast to the north of DENIA on the Costa Blanca. Although it is well communicated with Alicante, Valencia ( 1 hour by car) and the rest of Spain, this inland region offers a completely different venue from the mass " sun & sea" type of tourism. Picturesque villages, spectacular mountain ranges, verdant valleys offer charm and a taste of the "real Spain". Alicante is Spain's 2nd most mountainous province, running parallel to its famous coastline, and many outdoor activities can be practised in the area.

El SEQUER was a 19thC farm building formerly used to dry grapes and produce raisins. Today it has been charmingly reconverted into a cosy country cottage for 2 - 4 persons with 2 double bedrooms, 1 full bathroom and a sunny and spacious lounge- dining room with a fully equipped kitchen. It has its own private garden, swimming pool and ecologic fruit orchard ( tangerines, oranges, avocado pears, grapes, pears, loquats, cherries, etc ..) where our guests can pick fruit when in season. El Sequer offers top quality accommodation with modern installations (heating, ac, internet connection, TV/CD /DVD players, library, board games, outdoor furniture and 2 bicycles for our guests use). A special welcome pack is provided on arrival.

XAYMACA, also located on the outskirts of Benimeli, is an elegant 19th country- village house that has also been renovated to offer top quality self-catering accommodation for 4 - 8 people. Xaymaca has 4 double ensuite bedrooms, 2 large and spacious living areas with their own wood-burning stoves, dining room and fully equipped kitchen.
Outdoors there is a beautiful open-air patio filled with Mediterranean plants and a fountain , from where steps lead up to the private garden and large pool with its barbeque, covered porch and adjoining fruit orchard. The magnificent Segaria mountain range provides a spectacular backdrop to this location with panoramic views of the valley.
Modern installations (heating, ac, WIFI, sat TV / CD/DVD players, library, etc ..) combine with traditional architectural features to provide a homely atmosphere.

There is an ample choice of outdoor activities to practise in the nearby area and the owners collaborate with specialized activity groups for walking, cycling trips, abseiling, horse-riding, etc etc. You will be spoilt for choice . Xaymaca and El Sequer are also special rural retreats for those looking for complete relaxation and quiet. The choice is yours ... activity or tranquillity!. In the surrounding area there is an excellent gastronomic offer, while visits to wine bodegas can also be arranged. In short ..
